Chris Barron

Chief Communications Officer, Bentley Systems

Chris joined Bentley as Vice President of Corporate Marketing in 2008, was appointed to Chief Communications Officer in 2016, and in 2021, he took on the role of Chief Sustainability Executive. A registered architect, Chris left architectural practice in 1983 to pursue a career in the marketing of computer-aided-design software to the AEC industry.

Prior to joining Bentley, he served as marketing director for the AEC Market Group at Autodesk, corporate marketing manager of Softdesk, and senior marketing manager at Intergraph. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and is a member of the Board for Camphill Village Kimberton Hills.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and geography from Middlebury College and a master’s degree in architecture from Harvard University.
