Summary
Maranhão Grain Terminal (Port TEGRAM) supports and expands the capacity of Itaqui Port in São Luis, Brazil. The project is expected to increase the shipments of grains to Asia and Europe by having the capacity to export larger volumes of grains produced in Brazil. This new port expansion will consist of four warehouses with a total capacity of 500,000 tons, 125,000 tons each. It is estimated that the port will move 5 million tons in the first phase and another 5 million in the second phase, totalling 10 million tons per year. The port is designed to allow the docking and handling of Panama´s vessels, as well as an efficient unloading process from cargo trucks and rail. Located in the northern state of Maranhão, the project brings many direct and indirect jobs to one of Brazil’s most undeveloped regions. The Tegram consortium is made up by Novaagri Infrastructure, Glencore Services, CGG group – Corredor, and AMaggi Group – Louis Dreyfus.
